How photographs, illustrations and other media on this website are sourced and credited.

Written in plain language so you can find the term or choice that matters.

We use a mix of original material, commissioned work, supplier-provided media and properly licensed assets.

Rights and permissions

An image appearing on this website does not make it free to reuse. Copyright remains with the photographer, creator or rights holder unless stated otherwise. Supplier images are used only for the purpose agreed with the supplier.

Guest photographs

We publish identifiable guest photographs only where we have an appropriate basis to do so. A guest may ask us to review or remove an image by contacting us with the page address and a description of the image.

Corrections

Credits and rights information can sometimes be incomplete after files change hands. If you believe an image has been attributed incorrectly or used without permission, contact us with the page URL, the work concerned and evidence of ownership or authority. We will review the matter and, where appropriate, correct the credit or remove the file.
