Safety & Security

How we identify risks, brief people and respond when plans need to change.

If somebody may be in immediate danger, contact the appropriate emergency service first.

Travel involves changing conditions. Our role is to plan carefully, communicate known risks and respond sensibly; it is not to claim that every risk can be removed.

Before a trip

Routes should allow realistic driving and rest time. We check material supplier information and flag activities that require particular fitness, clothing or judgement. Travellers remain responsible for suitable insurance, medical advice and following official entry requirements.

On the road

Seat belts should be used where fitted. Drivers must comply with licensing and road rules and must not drive while impaired or dangerously fatigued. Itineraries may change because of weather, road closures, public events or official advice.

Activities and wildlife

Activity providers are expected to use appropriate equipment and brief participants. Guides and travellers should follow site rules, keep a safe distance from wildlife and stop an activity if conditions become unsafe.

Personal security

We advise travellers to protect passports, money and devices and to use hotel safes where appropriate. Sensitive itinerary details should not be posted publicly in real time.

Emergencies

In immediate danger, contact local emergency services first, then the Meth Travels contact provided with the booking. We record incidents and review whether routes, suppliers or instructions need to change.
