Yes, for tea country. Nuwara Eliya is the best base for tea estate visits and for Horton Plains National Park (World’s End). One night is usually enough; the town itself is busy, but the surrounding estates are beautiful.
Nuwara Eliya sits high in the central highlands, where the British built a hill station with a racecourse, golf course and bungalows. Today it is surrounded by some of Sri Lanka’s highest tea estates.
The climate is cool — nights can be cold — which is a refreshing change after the plains.
