This itinerary is timed for photographers. Sunrises and sunsets are placed where they matter most, midday is kept for travel and rest, and there is flexibility to return to a location if the light is wrong.

We ask photographers to respect people’s privacy and temples’ rules — always ask before photographing people, and never pose with your back to a Buddha image. Some ‘photogenic’ subjects, such as posing stilt fishermen, expect payment; we explain the etiquette.
